The Language Development Centre can help you develop your academic assignments so that you can communicate effectively in different academic contexts.
We can help you in person in tutorials, workshops. We will also be developing a range of online resources to help you develop your skills.

We offer International Students one-to-one tutorials in English for Academic Purposes (EAP). The aim of these 30-minute sessions is to work with you to focus on an area of academic writing you have identified. This focus may range from critical reading and note-taking through to key aspects of academic writing, including summarizing and paraphrasing, cohesion and incorporating academic references.

Booking a Tutorial

Tutorials can be booked using the LLS online booking system.

EAP Workshops

In addition to our one-to-one tutorials, we also offer a series of English for Academic Purposes (EAP) Open Workshops, which are open to all International Students. These will focus on a range of topics, including Seminar Participation, Writing Effective Academic Essays, Paraphrasing & Summarising and Effective Academic/Business Presentations.
