Aims:
This session will enable participants to:
- consider a variety of contextually relevant scenarios and think of ways in which students with autism can be supported at UON;
- look at a number of statements about individuals with autism and think about whether they are true or false, and discuss the possible reasons for different answers;
- gain an enhanced awareness of what autism involves and how it may affect the individual;
- identify and diminish stereotypical and harmful ideas about autism.
