Communities of Practice

Our communities of practice (CoPs) focus on Learning, Teaching and Assessment topics. We have a CoP for PG Course Leaders and a separate CoP for UG Course Leaders. The aim of these forums is for colleagues to share good practice and seek shared solutions to challenges. We can also invite colleagues from across UON to discuss a particular topic. We theme our monthly CoPs, but are open to new ideas and topics to discuss. Themes have included:
How/do our UG/PG students belong to UON?
Assessments – What works? What doesn’t?
Thinking about NSS/PTES – What needs to happen?
Personal Academic Tutoring at UG/PG level.

UG/PG student research areas – can we begin to cluster these?

Learning Design team invite: what they do and how they can help you.

Learning Development team invite: what they do and how they can help you.

Student peer-peer support: where do we do it well, and what can we share?

Inclusivity / Universal Design for Learning (UDL).

Learn Tech team invite: digital learning (students and staff).

2025-26 themes to discuss and decide.
