A variety of professional development workshops and sessions are offered to staff as part of the Academic and Professional Practice Scheme. You can find out when workshops and sessions are running through LibCal, the portal for all professional development activity.

Aims:

This workshop will enable participants to:

  • gain ideas and skills for a ‘menu’ of practical learning and teaching activities, techniques and strategies adaptable to their own practice;
  • develop their ability to provide effective learning experiences for students;
  • explore how they can draw on own past experience as a learner and/or teacher to provide effective learning opportunities for students, and begin to relate this to the scholarship of learning and teaching in higher education;
  • work with others as they engage practically in carrying out specific teaching activities, and receive feedback and encouragement on their own teaching practice.
