Xerte elearning and online toolkits

A variety of professional development workshops and sessions are offered to staff as part of the Academic and Professional Practice Scheme. You can find out when workshops and sessions are running through LibCal, the portal for all professional development activity.

All staff teaching or supporting learning.
Relevant to Descriptor 1 and Descriptor 2 of the PSF 2023.

Aims:

This session will enable participants to:

  • gain knowledge and understanding of the Xerte software templates, page types, features and tools to be able to produce an interactive elearning session;
  • work actively with Xerte software to become familiar and confident to develop an interactive elearning package to use in modules;
  • learn key aspects of instructional design for elearning packages and how to follow best practice with regard to explicit instructions for students;
  • learn and practice the technical workflow to follow and ensure assets (images, video, audio) adhere to copyright and format.

There is an optional follow-up session that gives participants the opportunity to present what they have developed to the facilitator and gain additional one-to-one support.
