A variety of professional development workshops and sessions are offered to staff as part of the Academic and Professional Practice Scheme. You can find out when workshops and sessions are running through LibCal, the portal for all professional development activity.

Aims:

This workshop will enable participants to:

  • discuss challenges that dissertation students may face. These challenges are often typical of students with particular characteristics and understanding these typical patterns can help in providing guidance and support;
  • explore what can be done to better support dissertation students and reflect on strategies that participants can adopt in their own practice;
  • gain practical tips on how to work effectively with dissertation students, whether they are at undergraduate, postgraduate or PhD level.
