Application outcome notification

As soon as you have been notified of your grant application outcome, successful or not you must contact the RIFS team . This is to ensure accurate data is represented at the various committees within the University.

Project Activation

This will initiate the process of turning the successful Application into an Award on Pure which allows you to upload important documents and will account for the amount correctly for the Research and Enterprise Committee (REC) reports. Once you notify RIFS of a successful award a member of the team will be in contact with you to arrange a kick-off meeting.

Project finances

Once a grant has been awarded you will need to ensure that the project finances are in order and a cost code has been allocated to the project. You can do this by requesting a cost code from your Faculty Accountant and referencing your project title. Once you have a cost code this will need to be uploaded to the Award on Pure.

Grant Agreements, Partnership Agreements & Contracts

Research contracts are legally binding agreements that govern the research activity that the University undertakes with funders, collaborators and partners. Almost all research funding requires there be some form of agreement or offer letter that is signed between the research and funder. Most organisations that will collaborate with the University will also require a partnership agreement to be put in place that guarantees conditions such as contract amounts, Intellectual Property (IP) and responsibilities.
