Supporting autistic people and their families

En-Fold logoDr Lauren McAllister, the Programme Lead for MSc CAMH at UON, is also a Trustee for a local autism charity, En-Fold. En-Fold support autistic people and their families within Northamptonshire, offering free 1:1 support for families, the autistic person and support groups. As part of this work, Lauren writes bids for service delivery and is leading the charity’s research strategy. Lauren and the CEO of En-Fold, Diane Johnson, recently presented to Northamptonshire’s Clinical Commissioning Group and gained £50,000 to be part of the delivery of the NHS Keyworker Programme in Northamptonshire. The Keyworker Programme is part of the NHS long-term plan, which looks to reduce the number of autistic people using mental health inpatient services. En-Fold, working with Barnados, are delivering the peer support element to ensure that young autistic people’s voices are considered in the creation of this Keyworker role.
