Helen Tiplady

Helen joined the University of Northampton in September 2019 after teaching for  15 years in primary education. She was an  Assistant Head in a large primary school in Milton Keynes, where she  led her school in implementing Restorative Practices as a way to resolve conflicts.

She is now a member of the Initial Teacher Training team and is currently the Module Leader for all the science courses (which has involved designing and delivering a brand new 30-credit Year 3 module in Expertise teaching)  as well as teaching on Research Practitioner modules. Helen’s research interests include the importance of life skills for primary school children and  how memory and metacognition skills aid their learning.
