Korrin Smith-Whitehouse

LEAD RESEARCHER

Korrin is a Senior Lecturer in Inclusion and Special Educational Needs at the University of Northampton.

Having gained her teaching qualification in 2002, Korrin began her school career as an English Teacher before taking on management and senior leadership roles in various schools and alternative provision in South London and Northampton.

She has worked at local and national arts organisations as Head of Education, promoting inclusion in the arts and widening participation of marginalised groups. 

She is founder of Public Sector Poetry, an online journal and writing research project, and leader of  the University of Northampton’s Centre for Education Research Special Interest Group: Education in Schools.

Her post-graduate areas of research include: off-rolling and education entitlement; home education; alternative provision; ‘disaffection’ and SEBD; creative approaches to promote Inclusion.
