This research followed Ethical Guidelines outlined in BERA (2018) and the University of Northampton’s Guidelines for Research, and was approved by the University of Northampton.

Risk Assessment was also approved by the University and consent received from all participants to take part.

The researchers recognise the challenges and ethical issues of research with children and this is addressed throughout our research. Whilst researchers used an interpretivist paradigm to approach research, we also empowered children to not only create data but to interpret the data with us as co-researchers ensuring that our interpretations and findings were trustworthy and valid.
