Last week we had stem week and so the children were using a lot of technology. During the week the children used google sheets to create questionnaires – the children then gathered the information using the chromebooks and it was processed into one spreadsheet so they were able to see similarities and differences in data. Using computing like this can make graph work in mathematics fun and interesting for all.
During the week the children also had the chance to explore raspberry pi’s and makey makey kits. The exploration of computing like this in schools is generating excitement in the children and making them want to learn more. When asked what they wanted to be when they grew up, over half of the year 5 class wanted to be computer programmers!
