1. Workshop on circular economy and sustainable procurement models

The Group will be hosting a half-day workshop on the utilisation of circular economy and sutainable procurement models in the spring of 2019. The event will be held at Heatherwood Hospital.  More details to follow.

2. Funding for industrial heat recovery

BEIS is providing up to £18m of competitive grant funding to support the uptake of industrial heat recovery projects.

The department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) is providing up to £18m of grant funding through a competitive process to support the uptake of industrial heat recovery projects.

3. Employers in the energy sector are invited to apply to have a PhD student work on their energy project

KTN has teamed up with University Alliance to provide PhD students on the Doctoral Training Alliance (DTA) energy programme the opportunity to undertake a three-month industry placement in an SME.

Employers in the energy sector are being invited to apply to secure a PhD student to work on an energy project.  If you can offer:

  • short projects and/or placements ranging from between 1 to 3 weeks or
  • short placements ranging from 1 to 3 months

4. Royal College of Physicians achieves Carbon Trust standard certification

The Royal College of Physicians (RCP) has been recognised for recording a 30% reduction in its carbon footprint over a three-year period by becoming the first royal college to receive the Carbon Trust Standard certification.
