RESEARCH Guidance Notes
Purposes of Research
You conduct research to develop a better understanding of the following:
- The Market – to ensure that you know what has been done before and by whom. Are there any similar productions?
- The Product, service or topic – to ensure that you produce a production that is fit for purpose and meets the audience needs or expectations
- The Audience – to better understand your target audience and what they want
It is important that you understand what these forms of research involve as you will need to apply all three to the practical production research activity you will be undertaking in this projects.
