The student teachers made presentations with PowerPoint on an Interactive map with environmental variables that are affected by climate change: https://coastal.climatecentral.org/
This was uploaded to Microsoft Teams. The students reacted well to the PowerPoint presentation, especially to the debate on it. The students were amazed to see how the sea level was going to rise (especially because where the project was taking place it would have a great impact). We could see that the students thought more by themselves and how the situation was going to affect them (which in this is specific problem was very little and so they felt relieved). The students really enjoyed talking with their international peers with other countries. Then we went on to explain about the global environmental problems and the local environmental problems.
First we debated with the pupils about this type of problem and the things they do to increment or diminish them. Secondly, we collected and selected from garbage in the town and nearby forests. Finally we reflected and previewed the second International Day.
Students working with trash went out of the school and collected trash for the sculptures to be done the 2nd International Day. During the presentation, our students were very interested in the topic and asked questions about it, worrying about the state of the planet and contributing behaviours and ideas about what they could do to avoid pollution and climate change. Using the interactive map that shows the consequences of climate change, they were unconcerned about this problem, since in our country, Galicia, factors such as the rise in sea level or the rise in temperatures do not affect us to a great extent. Students interacted with other countries, students in small groups discussed the activities and other classes.
