If you’re introducing PebblePad to new students or mentors, here’s a handy list to work through to ensure you cover the key points. Don’t forget to point them back to this website for further help later on.

Help for students

Here’s a check list to help you run an in-class session for your students introducing them to PebblePad.

  1. Make sure your student’s account is activated – their username is their student ID
  2. Go to PebblePad login screen (suggest bookmarking link)
  3. Explain how to login with the default password
  4. Explain how to change the existing password or reset a forgotten password
  5. Login and briefly explain Pebble+ dashboard
  6. Explain the view will adjust between desktops and tablets in a responsive way
  7. Go to Resources and find copy of workbook template.
  8. Make own copy by opening as an Asset
  9. Activate the pages by opening them to read
  10. Save the workbook – and save at regular intervals
  11. Exit the workbook and return to the Pebble+ dashboard
  12. Explain the What’s happening section where to view deadlines and grades
  13. Explain where to get further help from the learning centre and this help website.

 

 

Help for mentors

Here’s a check list to help you run on-site with mentors introducing them to PebblePad.

  1. Make sure your mentor’s account is activated – their username is their email address
  2. Go to PebblePad login screen (suggest bookmarking link)
  3. Explain how to login with the default password
  4. Explain how to change the existing password or reset a forgotten password
  5. Login and briefly mentors do not get access to Pebble+ (the creation half of the software)
  6. Explain what a workspace is and how students are grouped together
  7. Explain a student’s workbook and how the student will link them to it
  8. Show how to open a workbook and navigate the pages.
  9. Explain how to validate sections and save.
  10. Explain how to close the workbook and return to the workspace.
  11. Explain how to logout.
  12. Explain where to get further help from this website.
