‘Our Class’ is a series of educational resources to help teach primary school children about friendships and peer relationships.

The resources feature a series of stories, each introducing a character facing a difficult situation with their peers.

Each story has associated discussion questions and lesson plan that can be used as part of Personal Social and Health Education (PSHE) classes to help children explore the complexities of friendship. There are also narrated videos available to support the lesson plan and activities.

They are intended to be ‘off the shelf’ resources for educators enabling them to easily organise classes about friendship with minimal planning and preparation.

They have been quality assured by the PSHE Association, and awarded their Quality Mark – as best practice in safe and effective PSHE Education.

Meet Mr Vadar’s class

Join the class at Bankwell Primary School as they experience the trials and tribulations of making friends, being friends and staying friends.

 

Meet Ope

Bankwell is rather unique in that it has its own talking owl! Ope is an important part of school life, noticing when somebody needs help and trying to make things right.

 

 

Meet the characters

We will visit different members of the class, each facing their own friendship challenge. The first story in the series features Tommy and Stefan. They have been friends for a long time but are noticing that things are not like they used to be. Should they go their separate ways or try to save their friendship?

 

Halina has a family secret that is troubling her. She confides in her friend Isabel, but can she be trusted? And are Halina’s friends true friends after all?

 

Ruby is new to Bankwell School. She’s feeling lonely and left out, despite being welcomed by her peers. How can she settle in and start to make friends?

 

 

Benson wants to get to know Chen better, but when she is unkind to his long standing friend George, he isn’t sure what to do
