The White Paper Education Excellence Everywhere was published in March 2016 and has caused heated debate, particularly regarding the forced academisation of all schools. A response from the NUT said that ‘the White Paper will do nothing to address the pressing issues that are distorting education. It is a complete distraction from the real problems facing schools, a huge danger to our education system and an open door to complete privatisation of schools and teaching. ‘ However, The Sutton Trust have reported how they have been quoted widely in the White Paper and so summarised resultant initiatives.
Responses have already led to 2 polls, each with over 100 000 signatories calling for parliamentary debate.
