British Science Week, 11-20th March 2016

Science Week is an excellent time to celebrate science in schools; it is the chance to extend and enhance the curriculum through themed days, workshops, special visitors and studies –  so now is the time to get planning!!

There is a wealth of support materials available with 2016  activity packs being launched by the British Science Society  during January. There is a wide range of resources and activities already available on the site  which is  well worth a visit.

Your pupils can design posters and enter the competition  – maybe even win a prize!

There is comprehensive guidance on how to organise an event including advice on funding, templates for publicity and permission, down loadable logos and much more.

If your school already celebrates Science Week, they may not have accessed the resources before or would welcome the ideas and support available. If your school doesn’t usually engage with  Science Week maybe this year is the time to begin; the resources could also be used by a Science Club or dedicated science time when suitable.

Follow their Twitter feed for links to organizations, news and events.

As well as the British Science Association information, there are other sites where you can find additional themed ideas such as: Global Dimension , Mad Science, a company working in the East Midlands, as well others.
