International Day 1 Year 5 England
This year, we are working with Norway to write collaborative digital stories. These are based on the idea of identifying environmental problems, and then finding solutions to these problems. Today we introduced the children to the technologies they will use this year, which include Book Creator and iAnimate, and we explored ideas for the stories in line with the SDGs. The children then planned the ‘problem’ part of their stories, and created these using 
their chosen technology. We sent these to the Norwegian children and eagerly await their stories to read on International Day 2! The children were really excited to get started and loved choosing and using the digital tools.

International Day 2 Year 5 England
On Day 2, the children were excited to see the Norwegian pupils’ ‘problem’ stories, and to find ways to resolve the issues raised in them. The children were creative in their responses to resolve the problems and finish the stories, including using different forms of paper animation and a more developed and confident approach to Book Creator. A highlight today was talking to the Norwegian pupils via Teams and playing a game to share common interests of children in both countries. Everyone is looking forward to International Day 3, so they can see how their original stories were completed by the other pupils, and for their visit to the UON campus.
