Student Feedback

Our students have been involved in ‘alternative placement models’. There are many positives to be gained for practice and for the students with the emerging ideas of different placement types and a different structure to placements.

If you would like to discuss the possibilities of facilitating student placements in your organisation, please contact fiona.barrett@northampton.ac.uk

Please see the links below to view their feedback/reflections.

Educator Training

New Educator training is aimed at educators that do not have any experience supporting students or those educators that have supported students alongside a lead educator and would now like to transition becoming the lead educator to support UON students.

The established educator training is aimed at educators in practice who have experience supporting physiotherapy students, where they will discuss some key concepts, challenges and areas for development/support. The agenda for conversations will change dependent on practice and student feedback. The aim is to support the development of practice educators and their confidence in supporting students. Working together to share best practice.

How to get a mentor account | Placements (northampton.ac.uk)

A student can share with multiple people on placement, all of which can contribute towards the workbook, however final sign off has to come from the practice assessor.

How to share the workbook: https://askus.northampton.ac.uk/Learntech/faq/188670

If it still does not work, student will need to contact Learntech via the below form:

Audits and Placement Profiles

Further to agreeing to support our MSc Physiotherapy placements, we need to ensure the placements are compliant in line with HCPC and CSP (Chartered Society of Physiotherapists) regulations.

Please assist us by completing the following forms for our records.

Placement Audit https://forms-Physiotherapy Audit

The audit is kept on file and reviewed every three years. This confirms that the student placements meet the course requirements, and that the organisation has public liability and a suitable risk assessment in place. If you oversee a large service, you can complete one audit and list the teams it covers eg MSK, respiratory, etc.

Placement Profile https://forms – Physiotherapy Profile

The placement profile is kept on file and can be updated as required.  This is the information we share with the student when their placement is released so they know who to contact, area of physiotherapy specialism and learning opportunities. A profile needs to be completed for each team.
