Please find below, details of all available training for OT Practice Educators for the coming year. There are options for 2-days for new educators or a half a day refresher sessions; the sessions are held three times a year in line with the placement start date.
Please see the dates below. I will be setting up the registration over the next few weeks so further details will follow.
Full Practice Educator Training (FPET) – a full day, with some preparatory learning:
Weds 10th Sept 2025 (on campus)
Tues 13th Jan 2026 (on Teams)
Thurs 12th Mar 2026 (on Teams)
Practice Educator Refresher/update sessions – less than half a day positioned to align to the traditional placement blocks:
L5: Tues 21st Oct 2025 (Teams)

L4: Weds 25th Mar 2026 (Teams)

FPEC Training two-day training for new educators (plus experienced on Day two if required). The 2-day New Practice Educator Training (previously FPEC Apple Accredited Training) is for new educators who haven’t previously supported placements; OTs need to be Band 5 or higher and in post over 12 months since graduating. To apply, complete the following form: Occupational Therapy FPEC Training Request Form and email it to OT.Placements@northampton.ac.uk
Day One – self-directed online materials (you will be sent additional details on how to access them). You will also need to watch the assessment training videos above.
Day Two – teaching session will provide comprehensive preparation for placement and covers similar material to the Study Day.
9am to 4.30pm
Study Days are for experienced educators; this refresher training should be completed every two years. NB educators can attend the second day of the new educator training if the date is more suitable.
Level 5 Project Refresher Training from 9:30am to noon (Microsoft Teams)
