Encouraging new entrants into the waste management field

One of the good things about my job is the opportuniteis it provides to engage with a wide range of stakeholders, including new potential entrants into the field of waste. In this respect, I do various acitivities, including for example, acting as a STEM Ambassador. STEM represents Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. Essentially this involves helping primary and secondary school students to become involved in STEM subjects and hopefully follow this through career wise.

Another actitivity is speaking at various events. The link below is for a Chartered Institution of Wastes Management (CIWM) event, organised by the London and Southern Counties Regional Centre, aimed at introducing graduates to a range of careers in the waste management field.
