What is the driving force behind students deciding to study Early Childhood Studies? Why do they choose to work with children and families?
And what are these students aspiring towards? What do they want to do when they graduate?
It is these questions that drive this aspect of my research. I aim to find out about the motivations and aspirations of students on Early Childhood Studies degrees courses so that what we provide can be aligned with their expectations and their hopes and dreams.
Along with my colleague, Prof. Eunice Lumsden, I have researched this area and used the findings from the research to enhance the degree programme to the benefit of the students.
A journal article is currently in the process of publication so watch this space for the formal findings from this research project.
