University of Northampton to help town in tackling climate change

West Northamptonshire Council have this week announced that they will be teaming up with the University of Northampton to help the town in tackling the current climate change crisis.

UON and the council believe that the new partnership will help the county become greener in the long term.

Both organisations share the same vision of becoming net-zero by 2045 and it is hoped that with the experience and guidance from the University, a major step this week has been taken.

The new partnership has been given the name TANZ.

UON, who have joined up with the council for the TANZ project.

In the project’s latest post announcing the news, they state the point of reducing climate change in the most cost effective way, and believe the TANZ project will ensure the partnership can continue for the foreseeable future.

The project stresses the importance of charities and the community to also get involved, with this helping to broaden the locals’ knowledge on climate change, the TANZ project and also bring relevant funding into the group.

If this is something what is at interest to you, the group will be holding a free online webinar on Tuesday 24, October.
