Moldiv is an iPad app containing a diverse range of professional editing options, effects and decorative features that allow multiple photographs to be combined together and manipulated to create various personalised collages.
This app could be used independently by the children to take photographs of their own artwork and supported to edit and create their own collage. The tools available on this app also allow children to experiment with different photographic elements that change the colour, tone and texture of the image/photograph. Children’s learning could be extended by inserting images of both their work and specific artists to encourage children to explore various links.
Many positive outcomes to children’s learning could be achieved through using this app that links to the Expressive Arts and Design EYFS goals alongside Key Stage 1 National curriculum outcomes including:
- using what they have learnt about media and materials in original ways, thinking about uses and purposes. (EYFS)
- representing their own ideas, thoughts and feelings through art, design and technology. (EYFS)
- developing a wide range of art and design techniques in using colour, pattern, texture, line, shape, form and space. (KS1)
- encouraging children to describing the differences and similarities between different practices and disciplines, and making links between artists and their own work. (KS1)
Here is a simple collage created using the app that focused on animal prints.
