Scratch Project- Boat Race- Harriet Smith

As part of today’s computing session I made a boat race game using scratch. The red boat is controlled using the mouse and the yellow game is controlled using the up, right and left arrow keys.

This activity could be used in Key Stage 2.

Lower ability learners could choose to just create the one boat using the code and the higher ability learners could then move on to create different levels, making their own backdrops and obstacle courses.

The children should be reminded to keep checking that their game works throughout as I found that sometimes the order of the code was slightly wrong and this had a major impact on how the game worked.
