Stephanie Forward – Using Thinglink to develop character description

ThingLink is the leading platform for creating interactive images and videos for web, social, advertising, and educational channels” If i was to use this programme in a classroom, when following a task i think it would be a great way to get the children to introduce their characters or develop description of characters in texts being explored. A really nice idea would be to let the children draw/paint there characters (art cross circular link) and then upload the image onto the programme were they can then introduce the characters interactively to the rest of the class were creative description would be encouraged. It did take me quite a while to get used to using the programme but after a while its quite easy to grasp and i do think it would be suitable to use with a class as long as the process wasn’t rushed and children were supported throughout.

Below is a quick ‘thingling’ i made during the session to highlight how it could be used in a classroom to introduce characters – i really like how personal you can make the programme by uploading you own drawings, and then making the introduction interactive. Also if you upgrade to premium it allows to access a lot more features.
