Outdoor learning- QR codes

During our session today focusing on outdoor learning, we decided to explore the use of QR codes. We created a hunt called I’m hungry, which gives children the opportunity to take their learning outside of the classroom whilst still engaging in the use of technology.

Our particular challenge was based on the university where each clue led to a different area of the university, eventually taking you to the canteen. We decided that as an extension task, the children would be asked to write a poem on the different areas that they have been to following the QR codes. This would be a good assessment opportunity.

It was easy to use and could be used cross curricular. Creating QR codes would be good for children to explore, they would have to think about their own clues drawing up on many different skills.
