Scratch – Musical Instrument Activity

Here is a scratch resource, that I have created, that could be used in schools for music lessons, probably more suitable for KS1 in being able to play different instruments by simply clicking on each instruments. Great activity for younger children to start to recognise different timbres of instruments.

KS2 could create this resource independently, with some guidance on computer programming in scratch. Please ‘see inside’ to understand the programming behind this activity. Here is a link to the activity on scratch to be able to ‘see inside’ http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/19273575/

This is easy to create, and as you can see some pictures are hand drawn, while others are media from scratch itself. Therefore this could also link with art.

Click the instruments to make them play their sound, and press the ‘s’ key on the keyboard to make the instrument stop.
