This week working on key stage one programming I decided to look at the video recognition/signalling element within the Scratch program, and based up on that make a drum kit. This proved remarkably easy, so I started extending it with small trombone pieces, then experimented with the vocal choir options. The Kit as it stands has all the drums included, and both the trombone and choir pieces, plus all the instructions to change the length, note etc. This would be a useful starting point for a class virtual orchestra, where each group could focus on a different area of the orchestra, and try to produce a sound piece.
