Session 4: Exploring Images and Animation

We loved watching your presentations last week and thought you created some really top notch resources. I would certainly be happy to take any of the ones I saw into the classroom to use straight away and it was great to see such a range of ideas and tools used right across the curriculum. Here’s Lucy A, Lucy H and Abigail’s wonderful StoryBird:

You’l find some instructions for how to share your resources on the class blog here.

Gareth and I both love making animations and we’re looking forward to getting out our new lego and playmobile to explore stop frame techniques with you this week. We’ll look at software such as Zu3D and MonkeyJam for this and also explore some online animation tools like GoAnimate and Pixton.  Here’s a Sqworl set to browse and some super examples from The Downs School.

Alongside animation we’ll be thinking about ways of using images in the classroom. (More Sqworl links here). One of my favourite sites is Google Art Project where you can take virtual tours of world famous art galleries, zoom up close to paintings and curate your own collection.  We’ll also aim to find out whether our new styluses combined with the Brushes iPad app help you paint like David Hockney!
