Does require registration using an email, but students can use ‘disposable’ ones from Gmail, Yahoo or Microsoft.
Considerably less limiting than a NILE wiki and easier to use. However you cannot directly use the content for any assessed work. Students may find it useful for group work / collaboration (so you could suggest it) or you may wish to be involved directly. Good for assembling an online resource or multiple authored document too.
There is a free Education version with extra social tools, but we haven’t fully researched the data protection implications of creating ‘classes’ for students – what personal information is held and where – so it isn’t currently recommended.
