Planning for Active Blended Learning sessions

Planning for ABL at a session level requires a structured approach so that session activities and pre/post-session tasks are meaningful, constructively aligned, and integrated into one blended experience for students.

Consider the following questions and the tools available for each:

Join the C@N-DO Planning for ABL workshop.

What are the session learning outcomes?

How do they link to the module learning outcomes?

What is the context of the session?

How does this session link to prior and/or subsequent learning?

What learning activities will students engage in?

Include preparatory and follow up activities and how they will link to the session. Is there evidence of ABL?

What Tutor activity is required?

Include creation/preparation of resources, supporting activity while students engage in tasks, formative assessment throughout the session.

Are there any ‘typical’ challenges?

Consider how your plan/s could be adapted or supported so that learning stays on track.
