michelle2Welcome to the Library and Learning Services (LLS) support site for Engineering students. This site contains advice and links to videos and tutorials, which will help you improve your skills in finding, using and evaluating information for success on your course.

I’m Michelle Perrott – Academic Librarian supporting the School of Science and Technology. As an Academic Librarian, there are three main parts to my role: teaching, liaison and collection development. I teach information skills to staff, students and researchers to help them make the most of the resources we have. You may see me in a class, organised by your tutors, or you can book an appointment with me for help with literature searching and referencing. I also liaise with students and staff to help make sure that you are aware of developments within Library and Learning Services and to ensure the support we offer matches the ranges of requirements from the School of Science and Technology. I am also responsible for managing the Library budget for the School, so I manage and buy resources such as books, databases and electronic resources to add to our collections.

If you experience any problems using the resources or you are struggling to find relevant information, I can offer help via telephone, email, Twitter or Skype. You can book  a 1: 1 appointment or a 10 minute Drop-In session through our online student login.
