Heyford Reserves are knocked out in the first round of the Division Two Cup after a Jake Buckingham Hattrick for Weldon United Reserves on Saturday.
The cup Journey ended after only one round after Heyford lost 9-1 to Weldon United Reserves, the game started out strong for Heyford with a good defences display before Weldon opened the scoring in the 30th minute.
The game got really interesting when the referee pulled his hamstring so this meant Heyford Manager Bailey-Shaw had to step up and take the whistle for the rest of the game.
Heyford had the chance to go level 2 minutes after the goal after a penalty was awarded by Bailey-Shaw but Andre stepped up and smashed the ball over the goal to keep the score at 1-0.
Just before half-time, Heyford’s day went from bad to worse after Weldon added a second goal of the day with the last kick of the half and went into half-time 2-0 up.
The second half kicked off and inside the first 10 minutes of the second half Heyford’s game was over with the score being 6-0 to Weldon, some injuries to the keeper and other players meant Heyford had to have a complete change and this meant that they did not start well.
Weldon managed to add another two goals in three minutes to make the score line 8-0 to Weldon, but Heyford was not giving up as we got a free-kick about 20 yards out and Shaquielle Stephens smashed the ball into the top corner to make it 8-1.
Weldon managed to add one more before full-time to make the score line 9-1 and progress to the next round of the cup,
All the players are devastated about getting knocked out of the cup and hope to make a comeback next week as we play Weldon again next Saturday in the league.
