After yet another loss in the league, attention shifts to the league cup for Heyford as they chase a moral boosting win.
An 8-2 loss to Woodford Wolves in Manager Liam Bailey-Shaw’s second game in charge, means their is plenty of work for the gaffer, but he is confident fortunes will change sooner rather than later, he said “Last week was simply not good enough from all of us as an collective,
“Me included, I take responsibility for that. One thing I can promise is that level of performance just can’t happen again, we now look forward to our cup game with Weldon, a one-off encounter, we have to leave it all out there on the day because if not, we will be out the cup”.
Visitors Weldon are not having the greatest season themselves, sitting 12th and only four points above the relegation zone. Their coming off three consecutive loses and will also hope a change of competition can bring better fortune.
Saturday will see two teams desperate for a win, battle it out for a place in the second round of the league cup, one thing is for sure, both teams could do with a bit of cup magic.
