1. Vacancy for a Chair of Sustainability West Midlands

Sustainability West Midlands is recruiting for a new Chair – closing date 29 September: We’re looking for an individual to build on the strong leadership established by our current Chair, Peter Braithwaite. You’ll help take us to the next stage in our growth as an organisation and the impact we have in creating a more sustainable future for the West Midlands. You’ll provide the equivalent of up to two days per month to help us harness our unique profile and strong track record as the independent and cross-sector sustainability adviser to the leaders in the West Midlands. In return you will be offered a unique opportunity to use your skills and experience to make a lasting difference to the future of the West Midlands and its 5 million citizens.

2. The Group’s 2017 sustainable food waste management conference

4. SBRI funding competition: business productivity portal

Innovate UK is to invest up to £500,000 to develop solutions that provide businesses with access to information on improving productivity. These solutions will help businesses at all levels – leaders, management and employees – access new opportunities to improve productivity levels where they work.

Innovate UK is looking for proposals for feasibility studies on the:

  • technical solution
  • commercialisation plan for taking the solution into the market
  • possible commercial models
