1. Unilever develops new technology to recycle plastic sachet waste

Unilever has unveiled its ground-breaking new technology to recycle sachet waste. This technology, called CreaSolv® Process, has been developed with the Fraunhofer Institute for Process Engineering and Packaging IVV in Germany.

2. Update of the EU Carcinogens and Mutagens Directive

EU decision-makers are currently updating the EU Carcinogens and Mutagens Directive, which protects workers exposed to carcinogenic and reprotoxic hazards during preparation and administration of cytotoxic drugs for cancer patients

4. The Group’s 2017 conference

The Group’s 2017 conference will be held on Thursday October 5, at the Northampton Town’s football ground in Sixfields, Northampton. The event will focus on the sustainable management of food waste from the healthcare and hospitality sectors. It will feature speakers from WRAP, Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust, Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust, the Co-opNorthamptonshire Waste Partnership and Severn Trent Water. The event will be sponsored by  Sharpsmart and Olleco.

5. Milton Keynes to host a ‘community fridge’

The Old Bath House Community Centre in Wolverton has successfully secured pilot funding for Milton Keynes’ first ever Community Fridge, which will be trialled with the support of environmental charity Hubbub UK in a growing effort to tackle food waste.
