1. NHS Sustainability Campaign Roadshow: Holiday Inn, Cardiff City-March 14th

Come along to the NHS Sustainability Campaign Welsh Roadshow. Its free to attend and you can learn how to save money through environmental improvements. Topics discussed on the day include:

  • Sustainable Procurement
  • Behaviour Change

2. Workshop on circular economy and sustainable procurement models

The Group will be hosting an interactive half-day workshop on the utilisation of circular economy and sustainable procurement models on Wednesday 10 April 2019. It will outline case studies of strategies to save monies and other resources. The event will be held at Heatherwood Hospital.

3. Government unveils deposit return scheme

The UK Government has launched a 12-week consultation to explore how a “world-leading” tax on plastic packaging, standardised waste collections across the country and varying deposit return schemes for single-use items could overhaul and modernise the national waste management system.

4. FleX Competition briefing event

The Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS), in collaboration with the Knowledge Transfer Network, would like to invite you to register your interest in attending the FleX competition briefing event on the 13th March in Manchester.

Enabling a smarter, more efficient energy system is a priority for Government and Ofgem, and in their Smart Systems and Flexibility Plan published in July 2017, BEIS committed up to £70m for a smart energy system innovation programme. As part of this commitment, BEIS is launching FleX – the Flexibility Exchange demonstrator competition.
