1. Industrial Strategy Challenge Fund: Expressions of Interest

UK businesses can propose which of the main challenges faced by UK industry should be addressed by the Industrial Strategy Challenge Fund.
 

To submit an expression of interest you must be an industry-led consortium of partners.Consortium members can be from academic organisations, public sector bodies, and research and technology organisations (RTOs).

2. Half day workshop on remanufacturing/repair/reuse and single use in the healthcare sector

This half-day workshop which is sponsored by Grundon Waste Management Ltd, will focus on the remanufacturing/repair/reuse of bulky items, as well as the effective management of single use items in healthcare facilities. There will be short presentations from Alan Armstrong from Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, and Karl Sheehan from Sharpsmart. Following the presentations, there will be the opportunity for discussion and the sharing of information. These discussions will be facilitated by Anne Woolridge and Maria Mahon. A light lunch will be served at the end.

3. The Resource Recovery from Waste programme
 
The Resource Recovery from Waste programme aims to deliver the environmental science needed to support a radical change in waste management.
 

Resource Recovery from Waste (RRfW) is a collaborative research programme engaging academia, industry, government and the general public to develop knowledge and tools to reduce pressure on natural resources and create value from wastes.

It is funded by NERC, ESRC and Defra with the aim of delivering “the science needed to accomplish a paradigm shift in the recovery of resources from waste”.

5. Free webinar: HSE Waste & Recycling Campaign – a snapshot of health and safety in the sectors

Hosted by CIWM and with panelists from the Health and Safety Executive and WISH the webinar will review the campaign undertaken at the latter part of 2017 and feedback on the findings and statistics alongside some case studies and illustrative photographs.  Thursday 26th April 2018 at 2.00pm
