This month several plans had been made and put in place to begin the research process of gathering data for analysis. This included the following actions:
Send questionnaires out to research participants: BAME art and design students, art and design lecturers/ educators
Interview min. 6 BAME art and design students
Interview min. 2 BAME art and design graduates
Analyse and evaluate outcomes of research interviews and questions
Unfortunately, due to the current global pandemic, changes to the way of working and social distancing, much of the organisation put in place to gain further research via face to face interviews etc. had to be postponed until further notice. Public and sector specific information and guidance from the UK government with regards to how UK society will move forward to cope with the pandemic has helped to inform how this research project can continue its development. It is unlikely that the government lockdown will be lifted anytime soon therefore plans are now being put in place to interview participants using online resources such as Cisco Jabber. Using this method will still be effective in gaining culturally specific information about the values, opinions, behaviours, and social contexts relating to this topic. It will also enable the project to continue in its development.
Prior to this, a poster was created and to engage potential participants with the research project. Consideration was used when producing the poster to ensure that it targets the right group of potential participants using clear and appropriate terminology. Although some participants have been recruited, further promotion of the poster is required in order to recruit more participants.
