Patricia is a senior lecturer in the faculty of health education and society, working as part of the nursing team, support nursing associates, pre-registration nursing and return to practice health visiting students. Dr Michelle Pyer is an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Health, Education and Society. Michelle’s role in the project is primarily to evaluate the project as it progresses. She has completed over 35 research and evaluation projects during her research career and has published widely on health and social care related subject areas. Michelle specialises in qualitative research methods and research ethics, with membership of the University’s Research Ethics Committee, and as Chair of the Faculty’s Research Ethics Committee (Health strand).

Professor Jackie Campbell is Professor of Neurophysiology at the University of Northampton. She is a chartered physicist and statistician and has considerable experience in the design, management and data analysis of research projects. Her research interests include risk perception, older people, dementia, balance and pain.

Tim is Head of Access and Participation within the Directorate of Enterprise and Employment working across the university to support the closing of our performance gaps that exist across the institution; as well as Head of HE Schools Engagement, Changemaker Hub and he also works as the lead in the schools engagement team, working with faculty and professional service colleagues to encourage interaction and engagement with local schools and colleges to inspire young people to consider higher education as a route into a career.
Tim is very much looking forward to seeing how the outcomes of this project can impact on other subjects areas across the university and enable this best practice to be used successfully to the benefit of our students.
Doreen is a final year adult nursing student at the University of Northampton. Alongside her studies, she has worked as a student editor for the Nursing Times which involved discussing issues affecting the nursing profession and student nurse population. Being a part of the team is a great opportunity for her to expand her horizon and continue exploring matters that affect nursing students and ultimately the nursing profession.
In this project, Doreen will be assisting with collection, analysis and collation of personal stories from BAME nursing students to understand and improve the attainment gap.
Shabina is a medical professional with work experience in hospital administration she is from Mumbai India, currently doing her MSc CAMH (Child Adolescent & Mental Health) from the University of Northampton. This is her first opportunity to work on a research project as a Research Assistant and is looking forward to an exciting and fruitful journey as part of the project team.
