East Midlands HLTA Celebration Event 2017

On 21st June  new HLTAs and their guests attended our celebration event at Devonshire Place, Leicester. All HLTAs who have gained their status with the University of Northampton during the past year were invited and, although not all were able to attend, a true sense of achievement and success was shared. All HLTAs were presented with their EM HLTA Status pin badge and congratulated by Dr Cathy Smith, Deputy Dean if the Faculty of Education and Humanities who also gave a short talk acknowledging the skills and talents TAs and HLTAs bring to our schools.  The event was followed by tea and cakes, with a chance to linger and talk to friends made during preparation and HLTA staff.

As part of the event, the East Midlands Outstanding HLTA of the Year 2017 award was made. Four of the  HLTAs nominated by their schools were short listed:

Ann Archer from Bridgewater Primary School, Northampton, Northants,Tonia Cook from Swinderby All Saints Primary School, Swinderby, Lincolnshire, Jane Fenn from Ryhall C of E Primary School, Ryhall, Rutland  and Ann Hadfield from Asquith Primary School, Mansfield, Nottinghamshire.

Jane Fenn was judged the overall winner, but all  received certificates and had their success acknowledged by the event.

Congratulations to every one who has gained their status this year and all our HLTAs nominated for the award!!
