Empowering Student Voice: researching and co-creating resources for developing critical thinking skills
This project investigates students’ understanding of critical thinking skills, their perceived needs and priorities, and focuses on empowering student voices in developing critical thinking skills. A Student Research Panel (SRP) will be actively involved in surveying UON student perceptions, needs and priorities on critical thinking skills development, researching existing UON and general resources, and brainstorming/co-creating resources to meet identified student needs. This process will bring fresh perspectives towards meaningful learning experiences for students as it goes beyond understanding student perceptions – it actively involves students in improving current resources and shaping alternative forms of critical thinking development.
This research project is funded by the UON Learning and Teaching Enhancement (LTE) Research Innovation Fund 2024-25.
Here you will find more information about the project aims and objectives, the collaborative methodology developed, outputs and dissemination as well as news and updates from the research team and the SRP.
