We have designed and secured ethical approval for our baseline survey with ITT students. To be distributed in January
Action: Helen Caldwell to look into the questionnaire tool
Online survey tool JISC – arrange for an account to be set up
Action: Tom and Beth need to make a one page summary of the literature around the teaching, and to put together a literature summary – a table of literature which we can use for papers etc
- On the IRIS website, there are examples of previous research projects.
- IRIS will not be the only research project which uses video collaboration tools so look for others too.
- One page guide to what headteachers need to know etc. What we send out needs to be consumer facing. This is what you can find out, this is what it does, this is how it can benefit you etc.
Action: all to complete initial training on the site- IRISConnect App
Admins (Emma and Helen) can create new accounts for participants.
Suggestions to trial what we want to do with one license first to give us a clearer idea of what we are trying to achieve.
App can be installed from the app store.

Helen Tip to share list of potential participants and try and match schools and students who are willing to participate.
Action: Helen Caldwell to put together a guide for how to download the app and log in to their accounts.
Action: Emma to organise another meeting with IRIS in January and to invite external mentor
Action: Richard to chase up the microphones (six pairs) – try contacting the drama or journalising team, and IRIS Connect themselves.
Action: Tom to trial the software in his classroom if possible – just mess around with it.
