Theme: Economics, Business & Finance

What is OBOR?: “When Chinese President Xi Jinping visited Central Asia and Southeast Asia in September and October of 2013, he raised the initiative of jointly building the Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st-Century Maritime Silk Road (OBOR initiative), which can help promote the economic prosperity of the countries along the Belt and Road, strengthen exchanges and mutual learning between different civilizations, and promote world peace and development” (OBOR International @ Cambridge, 2017).

According to OBOR International @ Cambridge, the aim this Think Tank is “… to foster and develop critical academic thought about the political, economic, and societal implications of this Chinese initiative”. This international conference will provide us great opportunities “… to exchange ideas on how the international community can play an active role in supporting developing economies in the 21st century via international peace, development and collaboration” (OBOR International @ Cambridge, 2018).
