We began this lecture by looking at the art and inferences made in story books. In group we spoke about the use of expression on characters as well as simple versus complicated art work. We decided to look particularly at The Rainbow Fish. we were then asked to create a background and characters for our story. We decided to change the story slightly and have a rainbow mermaid instead. Whilst one person made the background using layering and collage, another made the rainbow mermaid and I made the wise octopus. The idea was to then use a app such as imovie to create a story with the background and the characters. Unfortunately we ran out of time in the lecture and I don’t have a tablet myself so I wasn’t able to do this.

this would work really well as a cross curricular activity, it engaged children who have different skill sets and also makes the story more memorable as they are fully immersed in it.
