roof low

An atrium has been created in the top of the tower section of the building. The design continues the pitch of the roof of the new transition hub, cutting through the existing roof integrating the old with the new. This creates a light, open waiting area for the counselling rooms.

The intervention is then continued down through the next floor where there is a void to integrate the lower waiting area with the one above.

This void in the floor and new glass roof allows for the planting of a small tree, with surrounding plants, bringing nature into the core, and giving the people waiting for their appointment a feature to enjoy and benefit from rather than having to sit in a conventional waiting area where they may be left looking at a wall.
